BCPO nets P1.7-M shabu from February 22 to 28

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has seized a total of P1.7 million worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride from February 22 to 28.

BCPO records showed that from February 22 to 28, it conducted a total of 15 drug busts that led to the recovery of 258.977 grams of shabu with estimated market value of P1,761,043.60.

The operations also led to the arrest of 19 drug personalities, including the two high-value individuals (HVIs) and 17 street level individuals (SLIs) in Bacolod City. All of them were already charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

For the same period, about 13 persons with pending arrest warrants were arrested. Nine persons were also arrested for illegal gambling.

In the campaign against loose firearms, police confiscated a .38 caliber revolver with three live ammunition and one fired cartridge.

BCPO director Manuel Placido also commended the accomplishments of all police station commanders including the City Drug Enforcement Unit.

Placido ordered the station commanders to exert more efforts to effectively maintain the peace and order within their areas of jurisdiction.
