16 residents infected, 39 recovered from Covid-19 in Oro

SIXTEEN residents of Cagayan de Oro have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, all of which are local transmissions, bringing the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the city to 3,852.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 16 new local cases, eight are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), seven are local index cases, and one local case with link.

Of the 3,852 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 422 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,430 cases were local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 3,430 local cases consist of 186 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 1,825 local index cases and 1,417 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 166 active cases, 54 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and 112 outpatients.

The city also registered 39 new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,503.

Of the figure, 302 were LSIs, 119 were ROFs, and 3,082 were local cases (community: 2,616; Apors: 466).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 183.
