4 men stabbed by colleague after drinking spree

FOUR construction workers were hospitalized after one of their colleagues ran amok and stabbed them in Brgy. Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City on Wednesday night, March 3, 2021.

Police arrested John Michael Sanate Adorna, 33, following a hot pursuit operation.

Police Maj. Aibert Jay Samson, Lapu-Lapu City Police Station 5 chief, said the incident occurred at Sitio Ihawan in Brgy. Pusok at 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

Samson said Adorna was with victims Carlito Lampa, 33; Edmund Auman, 28; Jonathan Go-od, 40; and Ronaldo Quinones, 41, all from Sogod town, Cebu, and was drinking with them.

Witnesses told police that after their drinking spree, Adorna and the four victims proceeded to their bunkhouse to sleep when Adorna suddenly stabbed them in the back using a knife.

“Witnesses said they never had an argument while they were drinking. They were surprised that Adorna started attacking them. They never even had an argument even before. We believe Adorna may have a psychological problem,” Samson said.

The victims, who sustained several stab wounds, were immediately brought to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital.

Despite having successfully arrested Adorna, police failed to recover the weapon used to stab the victims. (GCM / JKV)
