Quest Cebu continues environmental initiatives

QUEST Hotel and Conference Center Cebu has signed a new memorandum of understanding with the Philippine Army to continue its mangrove planting efforts under the National Greening Program.

The hotel and Army’s partnership started in December 2017 and the program has allowed the group to plant over 15,000 seedlings to date.

This year’s partnership aims to populate at least 6,000 mangroves within the year at Inuboran, Naga City where the greening project is centered. This effort promotes biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation and implementing sustainable reforestation projects.

“Even though some of our other environmental initiatives have taken a backseat due to the pandemic, opportunities like this, which is doable given the circumstances and relevant to the time, is crucial and must be continued. We are committed to keep doing it,” shared Mia Singson-Leon, general manager of Quest Hotel Cebu.

The first mangrove planting for 2021 was conducted on Feb. 20. Participated by a total of 30 individuals representing Quest and the Philippine Army, the group managed to plant 1,000 seedlings.
