6 Kagay-anons contract coronavirus

THE number of new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro continues to drop as the City Health Office reported only six residents who tested positive for the virus.

This brought the total number of confirmed infections in the city to 3,866.

According to the City Health Office, of the six local cases, one of whom is a local authorized person outside residence (Apor) and five are local index cases.

Of the 3,866 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 422 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,444 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 150 active cases, 57 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and 93 are outpatients.

The city also registered 12 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,532.

Of the figure, 302 were LSIs, 119 were ROFs, and 3,111 were local cases. Cagayan de Oro's recovery rate is now at 91.33 percent.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 184.
