6 Kagay-anons contract coronavirus

NEW local cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Cagayan de Oro have continued to decline as the City Health Office reported six residents who tested positive for the virus.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 3,716.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said three of the six new local cases were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, two were authorized persons outside of residence (Apors), and one was a local index case.

Of the 3,716 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 422 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,294 cases were local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 3,294 local cases consist of 186 persons deprived of liberty (PDL), 1,736 local index cases and 1,370 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 307 active cases, 48 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and 259 are outpatients.

The city also registered 28 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,231.

Of the figure, 302 were LSIs, 119 were ROFs, and 2,810 were local cases (community: 2,376; Apors: 434).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was at 178.
