The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) will be dedicating its remaining games in the Lakan season to the country’s medical frontliners.

The MPBL has been given the green light to continue with its playoff games in the division finals and then, the national finals. Led by the league’s founder, Senator Manny Pacquiao, the MPBL has decided to express their appreciation to frontliners all across the country by wearing jerseys, warmers, and shirts with simple messages to them in its bubble in Subic, Zambales.

"Our frontliners have sacrificed a lot (many with their lives) and fought hard in this battle. The MPBL family will continue to pray for them and show them our full support and gratitude," the league said in a statement.

Its games suspended since March of 2020, the MPBL Chooks-to-Go will hold the deciding games of the division championships on Wednesday, March 10, at the Subic Bay Gymnasium. The southern division will have the Davao Occidental Tigers and the Basilan Steel while the northern division will feature the San Juan Knights and the Makati Super Crunch.

The division champions will advance to the best-of-five National Finals starting on March 12. Game Two is set March 14 and Game Three on 16. If necessary, Game Four will be held March 18 and Game 5 on the 20th.

All the games will be held behind closed doors but will be shown on A2Z. (JNP)
