THE Bacolod City Legal Office-Enforcement Team and Market Coordinating and Monitoring Task Force already demolished the illegal structures inside the Bacolod Vendor's Plaza in Barangay 12 Tuesday morning, March 9.
This was stressed by Executive Assistant Ernesto Pineda, cluster head on markets, on Tuesday after the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas dismantled a suspected drug den inside the Bacolod Vendor's Plaza Monday afternoon, March 8.
The operation also led to the arrest of eight drug personalities identified as Jovie Bermudes, a drug den maintainer; Brian Alison; Renard Villamor; Hermel Taghoy; Roy Agena; Jayhan Mission; and Joshua Cagalcal, all of Bacolod City.
The operatives recovered from the suspects' possession seven sachets of shabu weighing 10 grams and the marked money.
The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 1.
They will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Pineda said the suspects were arrested at the fish section of the market.
They put up small makeshifts underneath the fish stalls.
"We demolished the makeshifts including the structures in front of the market within the perimeter of the Vendor's Plaza," he said.
He added that during the demolition, they recovered four sachets of shabu, which were turned over to Police Station 1.
Pineda noted that they also coordinated with the Barangay 12 officials and the markets supervisor for the demolition of the structure.
Pineda said they will assign personnel in the area to avoid the putting up of illegal structures inside the market.
