Misamis Oriental relaxes travel restrictions

TRAVELERS within Northern Mindanao will no longer be required to undergo a Covid-19 test and go through quarantine if the purpose of their travel to Misamis Oriental is essential and tourism-related.

This came after Governor Yevgeny Emano issued an executive order setting forth protocols for travelers coming to Misamis Oriental.

According to the executive order, locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and returning overseas Filipino workers (ROFs) from outside the province and Cagayan de Oro City will be required to present a negative RT-PCR test result upon arrival at their respective municipality or city of destination.

The result should be within 72 hours from the time the swab test was taken. If upon arrival the test result has yet to be released, proof of swab test may be presented on the condition that the traveler will undergo quarantine at the facility of the local government unit concerned until the release of the negative result.

For LSIs or ROFs with negative RT-PCR test result and manifested no Covid-19 symptoms, they will not be mandated to undergo quarantine.

For travelers who have undergone vaccination, they are required to present proof, such as vaccination card upon arrival at the city or municipality of destination.

After verification of their complete vaccination, they will no longer be subject to quarantine requirements.

All travelers are still required to strictly comply with the minimum public health standards upon arrival and during their stay in Misamis Oriental.
