PAMPANGA Governor Dennis Pineda led the formal opening on Wednesday, March 17, of the 215-bed Covid-19 isolation facility in Mexico town as the province beefs up its coronavirus response for isolation and quarantine requirements for new and active cases.
Pineda was joined by Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, members of the Provincial Board, Third District Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr., Mexico Mayor Teddy Tumang and Department of Health (DOH)-Central Luzon Director Corazon Flores during the formal blessing of the facilities rooms and offices.
Located in Barangay San Roque, the facility will be used a new quarantine area for symptomatic and asymptomatic Covid-19 patients.
The new isolation facility in Mexico has three buildings funded by the DOH, one evacuation center and one converted container van, which were provided by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and retrofitted as rooms for isolation.
The governor has expressed his gratitude to Mayor Teddy Tumang for accepting the isolation facility in their municipality.
Covid-19 Isolation Facilities incident commander Dr. Dax Tidula said the isolation facility boasts of four building facilities, as well as retrofitted container vans from the Department of Public Works and Highways that have been converted to quarantine rooms.
