To a tee: Upping your t-shirt game

For days when one likes to keep it casual and low key, a comfortable tee is the logical default.

While plain ones are and should be closet staples, sometimes, tees with a little attitude and personality—whether that’s by way of a cool graphic or a fun embroidery—take an otherwise regular ensemble up a notch.

For those looking for not-so basic tees to add to their wardrobe, here are five local brands to check out:

Palm Origins | @palmorigins

It’s all about positive affirmations and manifesting good things in Palm Origins’ new collection called “New Beginnings”—logo on the front, words of inspiration on the back. Visit to see the full collection.

Syndrome Supply |

“It’s all uphill from here”—This is emblazoned on the back of Syndrome Supply’s hot batch of tees that is custom-made and hand-printed. And after a year like 2020, this seems like a nice reminder to have around. Shop via

Cote | @cote.everyday

Aside from its bestselling ‘Social Distance’ and Pride-themed tees, the brand recently dropped its sixth collection with new fun designs like “Hangry,” “Laundry Day” and “Out of Office.” All of the tees are made with 100 percent premium cotton. Check out to shop.

Charlotte Folk | @charlotte__folk

As expected, Charlotte Folk’s newest collection “Visual Empire”—featuring cool green typography that pops against the pristine white fabric—is fresh and slick. The birthday collection is also back in stock in blue and black. DM the Instagram page for orders.

Homme Boy | @leshommeboys

Exude the distinct “je ne sais quoi” of the French with Homme Boy’s line of graphic tees, which includes the minimalist logo tees and the “Bonjour” tee. Head on over to to order.
