THE Philippine National Police in Eastern Visayas has rolled out its vaccination program against coronavirus disease (Covid-19), with 61 police officers who received their first dose of AztraZeneca-Oxford vaccine.

Lieutenant Colonel Ma. Bella Rentuaya, police regional spokesperson, said the personnel were from Regional Health Service led by Colonel Perfecto Yu.

The 61 recipients were among the top priority of the vaccination program as infirmary personnel of police regional office have high-risk exposure to Covid-19, according to Rentuaya.

Rentuaya added the personnel followed the process of vaccination, from registration, counseling and screening prior to the inoculation.

The personnel assigned at the police regional office will be the next batch of vaccine recipients, said Rentuaya.

Eastern Visayas police recorded 405 personnel to have been infected with Covid-19, with 11 personnel being currently isolated and 394 on recovery. (SunStar Philippines)
