Aiko Melendez distributes grocery packs in barangay under lockdown

APART from her obligations to the residents of Zambales, Aiko still finds time to help and reach out to people affected by the pandemic. On Tuesday, March 23, clad in a PPE (personal protective equipment) suit, Aiko distributed grocery packs to residents of Barangay Sta. Lucia in Quezon City.

There were about 150 families or 480 residents who received, rice, spaghetti and other canned goods.

Why in that specific area of Quezon City, Aiko was asked.

Lucia, kasi malapit lang sa akin iyong lugar, so I kinda felt the need to help them," she replied via Facebook private messaging.

In her Instagram account, Aiko thanked all the people who assisted her in distributing relief goods.

Stay safe. God bless!"

What is the greatest lesson she has learned at this time of pandemic?

"The greatest lesson is habang may oras ka, ilaan mo ito sa mga taong mahal mo. Lalo na, na tomorrow is never certain."

Before the pandemic, has she done something that she regrets not doing?

On Sunday, March 21, Kapuso stars Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez announce that they were engaged after almost seven years of being a couple. On his Instagram account, Tom posted a love quote from a famous poet/diplomat/politician Pablo Neruda.

"I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this..."

In a separate post, Carla also replied to Tom's post, saying that she will repeatedly say yes to Tom's marriage proposal.

"A million times, YES."

Carla and Tom are both exclusive GMA artists. The lovey-dovey couple was last seen in the primetime series "Love of My Life." Carla is very open in saying that she and Tom were living together even before the pandemic. The actress even discovered that Tom was "all-around" in terms of fixing things around the house.

"He was able to fix electrical work. Our plumbing, twice na tinopak ang aming water pump. Nagawa ni Tom! He was resourceful enough to use whatever we have at home to build, like, a contrapment or whatever. Ang galing na kaya niya talaga whether it's electrical, plumbing, or sa construction. Na-discover ko yun kay Tom." she narrated.
