Anti-drug stings net ex-Air Force, 4 others

FIVE persons, including a former soldier, were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Monday, March 29, 2021.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Alexander Barredo, 37, a former Air Force personnel; Reynaldo Tulawe, 32; Alvin Taji, 39; Den Den Alam, 34; and Khalid Arabain, 25.

Duco said that Barredo and Tulawe were nabbed in possession of some P2,040 substance believed to be shabu, P3,094 worth of dried marijuana leaves and P200 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 5:20 p.m. Sunday, March 28, in Sitio Luyahan, Pasonanca village, Zamboanga City.

Duco said Taji yielded some P6,800 worth of shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 9:35 p.m. Sunday in Cabatangan village, Zamboanga City.

Recovered from Alam and Arabain were P1,000 worth of shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 10:30 p.m. Sunday Phase III, Vallevista subdivision in Kasanyangan village, Zamboanga City.

Duco said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
