P10M swine multiplier farm breaks ground in Jagna, Bohol

TO improve the swine industry in Bohol and Central Visayas, the Department of Agriculture (DA)-Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), local hog farmers, and local government unit of Jagna, Bohol broke ground for the P10-million swine multiplier and technology demonstration farm project.

Located inside Jagna Eco Park in Barangay Tubodmar, Jagna, Bohol, the farm will have a 60-sow level capacity. It was awarded by the DA National Livestock Program through ATI 7 to Jagna, Bohol.

“The establishment of this multiplier farm is aimed at sustaining an eligible source of quality hogs that would be available and accessible to the local farmers,” said DA Undersecretary for Livestock Dr. William Medrano who led the groundbreaking ceremony.

He said that this is part of the government’s initiative to help hasten recovery and restoration of livelihoods, especially those hog industries affected by the pandemic and African Swine Fever (ASF).
