31 new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro

CAGAYAN de Oro recorded a sudden increase in new Covid-19 cases after one locally stranded individual (LSI) and 30 residents tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

This brought the total confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 4,120.

Among the 30 new local cases, 20 were local cases with link, nine were local index cases and one death.

Cagayan de Oro also noted a rise in active cases, from 126 to 145. Of the figure, 37 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 103 were outpatients, and five were returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs)/LSIs.

Dr. Lorraine Nery of the City Health Office said of the 4,120 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 429 were under the ROFs/LSIs category and 3,691 cases were local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 3,691 local transmissions were composed of 189 persons deprived of liberty (189), 1,961 were local index cases and 1,510 were local cases with link.

The city also registered 11 Covid-19 patients who recovered from the disease, bringing the total recoveries to 3,780, with a 91.74-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 302 were LSIs, 120 were ROFs, and 3,358 were local cases (community: 2897; Apors: 521).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was at 195.
