Families in Macabebe town infected by coronavirus

THE coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has continued to spread among families in the fourth district town of Macabebe in Pampanga.

Based on the bulletins issued by the local government, at least 10 individuals who were members of three different families were infected by the dreaded virus.

The first family included a 58-year-old mother (MC#138) and her two daughters (MC#153 and MC#154) aged 23 and 24 years old, respectively, all from Barangay Sto. Rosario here.

The mother, whose only travel history was at the public market, tested positive for the virus on March 24, while her children contracted the disease on March 28 after being exposed to their mother.

Meanwhile, another family, including toddlers from Barangay San Vicente, was infected by the coronavirus.

A 33-year-old patriarch (MC#145) was the first to test positive on March 27, while his 34-year-old wife (MC#151) and three and four years old sons (MC#156 and MC#157) contracted the disease on March 21.

The father had no known travel history, but his wife, who is a private school teacher, was exposed to her co-teacher, MC#140.

Aside from MC#151, MC#140 also infected two of his 52-year-old mother and 50-year-old father, all from Barangay San Roque.

He also infected another co-teacher, a 26-year-old male from Barangay Sta. Rita.

As of Friday, the local government reported a total of 166 confirmed Covid-19 cases in town. Of the said number, 33 were active, 116 were recoveries and 17 were deaths.
