Cordillera still under GCQ; Baguio re-imposes liquor ban

BAGUIO City and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) will remain under general community quarantine (GCQ) until the end of April contrary to unverified reports the region will be reverted back to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

In Executive Order (EO) 47, series of 2021, released by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong over the weekend, the city will remain under GCQ.

In the same EO, Magalong also re-imposed liquor ban from April 4 until April 10.

Aside from the implementation of the liquor ban, the mandatory wearing of face masks and face shields will strictly be enforced especially those passing checkpoints at border control areas identified by the City Government.

The EO also directs public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators to inform their passengers of the strict implementation of wearing of face masks and face shields.

Baguio City's legislative body earlier passed and started to implement the face shield ordinance starting March 17.

Only Authorized Persons Outside Residence (Apor) and essential workers coming from the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus areas will be allowed to enter the city provided they complete the current testing requirements and triage protocols.

Based on the EO, curfew hours will start from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. while selected sectors operating during the time period will be exempted from the curfew.

Individuals aged 15 years old and below and 65 years old and above, including pregnant women and those having health-related issues, are advised to remain in their residence unless there would be a need to go out of their residences.
