Pampanga has highest Covid fatality rate in Central Luzon

THE April 5 bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH)-Central Luzon showed that Pampanga currently has the highest coronavirus fatality rate among provinces in Central Luzon at 2.38 percent.

Pampanga has a higher fatality rate than Bulacan, which came at third among Central Luzon provinces at 1.61 percent.

Bulacan has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Central Luzon with 27,500 recorded as of Monday, April 5.

Pampanga comes in second with 10,536 confirmed cases.

Deaths from coronavirus in Pampanga are currently 251. Total fatality rate for the whole region is at 1.76 percent.

Current data from the DOH records cases in Angeles City separately. Angeles City alone has 3,668 confirmed cases with at least 673 active. Fatality rate of cases in Angeles City is currently at 1.77 percent.

There has also been a shift in the status of cases in Central Luzon. In the past three weeks, most active cases have been identified as asymptomatic. Current data show that most cases 12, 987 of the total 13, 112 cases are currently with mild symptoms while only 17 cases are asymptomatic.

The April 5 data also showed 40 cases of moderate symptoms, 49 severe cases and 19 in critical condition in the whole region.
