Drinking spree turns bloody in Leyte

A 28-YEAR-OLD laborer was wounded after a drinking spree turned bloody in Barangay Abaca, Dagami, Leyte Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

Police identified the victim as Ervelson Avila, married, a resident of the said barangay.

Initial investigation disclosed that the victim and the suspect, named Joshua Druga, were having a drinking session around 2 a.m. Tuesday when a heated argument ensued between the two.

Following the verbal altercation, the suspect suddenly stabbed the victim using a 10-inch bladed weapon or “pisaw,” hitting the victim’s left side abdomen.

The victim was rushed to Burauen District Hospital for medical attention while the suspect fled the scene.

Police are investigating the incident. (SunStar Philippines)
