Wellmade Manufacturing Corp., the maker of Speed detergent and Select soy sauce and vinegar, donated Winrox bleach to the Cebu Medical Society to serve as disinfectant for multiple clinics in Cebu. This is part of Wellmade's initiative to assist organizations fighting in the front lines against Covid-19.

Gab Balbuena, Wellmade's senior brand assistant for bleach, told SunStar Cebu that since the pandemic started, medical frontliners have been consistently performing above and beyond their duties in serving the public's medical needs.

"As we look around, it is easy to see that the medical frontliners have had the most impact in preventing the spread of the virus as well as being the most heavily affected. That is why we chose the Cebu Medical Society to be the beneficiary: to give back to our brothers and sisters in the front lines and support them in the fight against Covid-19," she said.

Dr. Minnie Monteclaro, president of Cebu Medical Society, said, "Our beneficiaries will be the medical centers or areas that really need these kinds of donations. Our organization really covers the whole Cebu, so we will look for centers that lack supplies; and our hospitals as well, especially those that are admitting Covid-positive patients."

Monteclaro expressed the association's gratitude for the donation saying that disinfectants remain a vital tool in protecting the organization’s over 3,000 medical workers, its patients and their families from Covid-19. She said Winrox bleach will be effective in sanitizing areas used by patients who have tested positive for Covid-19.

Winrox bleach is a sodium hypochlorite-based bleach. This is used as a disinfecting, sanitizing and deodorizing agent for households. It can also be used as bleach in laundry and as a stain removal agent. It is available in four variants, which are available in all leading supermarkets nationwide: Winrox Unscented, Winrox Fresh Flowers, Winrox Fresh Lemon and Winrox Elegant Breeze.

“The company is one with the medical frontliners in this fight against Covid-19. While they brave the battle every day in our hospitals, clinics and isolation facilities, we will assist in preventing the spread of the virus by providing affordable and effective products that will serve as a first line of defense against Covid-19,” Balbuena said.
