Guagua municipal hall on temporary lockdown

GUAGUA Mayor Dante Torres ordered the temporary shutdown of the Guagua Municipal Building starting April 6 after several employees of the Municipal Government tested positive for coronavirus.

Torres issued a memorandum on April 6 also asking government officials and employees to go on mandatory home quarantine and self-isolation.

He said each one is considered a coronavirus suspect and that self-isolation would protect families of those concerned, especially those with relatives who have comorbidities.

The mayor said contact tracing of those in direct contact with positive cases is still ongoing.

He also cautioned that those found loitering outside their homes except for emergency cases and indispensable reasons will be dealt administratively.

The municipal building will undergo disinfection and will be closed to the public until further notice, according to the mayor.
