Pack Walk 2021: Promoting health and safety in Victorias City

SEVERAL pet lovers in Victorias City gathered to the staging of the Pack Walk 2021 held at the city's public plaza recently as their way of supporting the Rabies Awareness Month campaign of the said local government.

Various breeds of dogs delighted the eyes of the people who saw them parading in streets surrounding the city plaza.

Pet lovers groomed their dogs to make them look good and generous.

Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca, a pet lover himself, supports this advocacy to promote the health and wellness of the pets and also encourage the safety of everyone.

Dogs should be taken care of as they serve as the most loyal pet on earth. The government can also ensure their wellness through proper vaccination that will likewise correspond to the safety of the public.

Dogs make people happy. They make people feel safer while they stay at home. But dogs also have health needs like the anti-rabies vaccines wherein the local government has a program to provide such under the City Veterinarian Office.

The City Veterinary Office, headed by Dr. John Michael Cabuguason, in partnership with the City Health Office headed by Dr. Richard P. Garlitos and in coordination with Victorias Pet Lovers Club, accommodated 68 pets during the first-ever Pack Walk in the city.

The participating pets then received goodies from Pet Options, Pilmico Feeds, Vetmate, and Best Buddies Pet Solution.

Dr. Cabugason reminded everyone that rabies is 100 percent fatal but is 99 percent preventable, and the City, in its aim to make Victorias a rabies-free city, can provide rabies vaccine to all dogs registered at the City Vet Office.

He urged everyone to continue supporting this policy so that everyone will be safe and well.
