22 Cagayan de Oro residents contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office recorded 22 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 4,246.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 22 new local cases, 10 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, four were local authorized persons outside residence (Apor), seven were local index cases, and one death.

Of the 4,246 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 431 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,815 cases were local transmissions.

Nery said the 3,815 local cases consist of 189 persons deprived of liberty (PDL), 2,036 local index cases and 1,589 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro logged 194 active cases, 53 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 136 were outpatients, and five ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered six new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,851, with a 90.69-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 303 were LSIs, 121 were ROFs, and 3,427 were local cases (community: 2,902; Apors: 525).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was at 201.
