THE Mapúa University, in its bid to support learners who wish to reach their educational aspirations, offers fully online bachelor’s degree programs in engineering and information technology. To date, Mapúa offers six Commission on Higher Education (Ched)-approved fully online undergraduate programs in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, offering the same quality of education as their traditional (face-to-face and on-campus) counterparts.
These fully online college programs provide “anytime, anywhere” education to students who don’t want to be constrained by geography and time in completing their undergraduate degree.
Such flexibility for self-paced learning makes the fully online programs ideal for learners who are remotely in the provinces, those who were not able to complete their college degree and would like to do so while continuing to work and professionals who are seeking another degree in order to shift or advance in their careers.
With teaching and learning activities in all courses designed to be asynchronous, wherein no real-time interaction is required, students in the fully online programs access content and coursework at a time that best suits their schedule. The only time consideration in an online program is in the deadlines of submission of assessment tasks and in the school’s academic calendar.
With strong digital capabilities in place, Mapúa facilitates learning in fully online programs with powerful educational technology tools and vast and up-to-date online learning resources through its very own learning management system, Cardinal Edge.
Despite the remote setup in fully online programs, Mapúa provides student support services through life coaches to guide and assist learners throughout their academic and student life. Life coaches will act as advisers to students on matters related to their fully online studies such as academic advising and enrollment, career advising and placement opportunities, goal setting, time management and social skills coaching and other transactions with the university.
The fully online programs follow Mapúa’s quarter system, and students may apply and enroll at any quarter in the academic year.
