Lawmaker, local officials lead opening of PhilSys center

THIRD District Board Member Rosve Henson and local officials led the opening of the new registration center of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in Robinson Starmills, San Fernando City on Thursday, April 8.

Henson said the facility is the 23rd PhilSys registration center in Pampanga.

By virtue of Republic Act 1105, or the Philippine Identification Act or PhilSys, signed by President Rodrigo Duterte in 2018, PhilSys aims to have Filipinos have a single official national identity card that can be used in all transactions with various agencies of the government.

"It will also help to have an orderly and organized way of delivering other government services and programs," Henson added.

Henson added that the Landbank also plays a big role, as every Filipino registered with PhilSys will automatically have an account with the said bank, which will be used to provide various assistance from the government.

Members of the Provincial Board of Pampanga and some staff of the Capitol were also present at the launch.

Also present were Pampanga Third District Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr., Philippine Statistics Authority officer-in-charge Arlene Divino, Landbank Pampanga Branch Manager Roel Samia, and National Economic and Development Authority-Central Luzon Director Agustin Mendoza.
