PRESIDENTIAL Spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. on Saturday, April 10, 2021, said he has been admitted in a hospital for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) treatment.

“This is to say that Covid-19 is more transmissible now so we have to do extra precaution,” he said.

“I am asking for your sincerest prayers to all afflicted with Covid-19 in the country and around the world. God bless and protect us all,” he added.

Roque sought hospital care around four weeks after he announced that he had tested positive for Sars-CoV-2.

Although he is in a hospital, Roque said he will announce the risk classification of the National Capital Region plus bubble later Saturday.

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases is meeting to decide whether to extend the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in NCR plus for another week, or deescalate restrictions.

NCR plus refers to NCR or Metro Manila, and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal, where a Covid-19 surge is still raging.

The area has been under ECQ since March 29. (Marites Villamor-Ilano / SunStar Philippines)
