DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, who is currently under 14-day quarantine after returning from a medical leave abroad, is planning to finish her quarantine at the city's temporary treatment and monitoring facilities (TTMF).

Duterte-Carpio resumed her mayoral duties on Sunday, April 11, after taking a five-day medical leave from April 6 to 10.

On Monday, April 12, Duterte-Carpio said in a radio interview that she is currently under a 14-day quarantine but she did not elaborate whether she is at home during her quarantine period.

She said, though, that she is planning to transfer to the city's TTMF to also experience being quarantined in the facility.

"Gaplano ko mubalhin sa atong TTMF kay tan-awon nako ilahang sistema didtoa kung unsa sila kaandam. Ako nang i-consider sa akong 14-day quarantine (I am planning to transfer to the city’s TTMF to monitor their system and observe their preparedness. I am considering it in my 14-day quarantine)," Duterte-Carpio said in an interview on 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio.

This came after receiving various complaints regarding the operation within the facility.

The mayor said all travelers who are permanently returning to the city, like her, shall undergo a home quarantine for 14 days, in accordance to Executive Order 12-B.

Duterte-Carpio confirmed that she has flown to Singapore for "personal health" reasons only on Wednesday, April 7.

"The reason is personal health management," the mayor said in a previous statement, without elaborating further.

During her leave, her brother, Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte, served as the acting mayor.

Duterte-Carpio said her flight to Singapore was a follow-up to her previous travel in October last year.

She added that she will have another series of medical leave slated in October this year, and in April 2022.

She, however, did not elaborate her medical condition.

While on quarantine, the mayor said she is "all well" and currently not manifesting any symptoms related to Covid-19.

President Duterte's condition

The mayor's surprise leave also coincided with the rumors regarding the medical condition of her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, after cancelling his weekly "Talk to the Nation" address last week.

While the mayor said she has not spoken with the President with regards to his condition, she assured the public that "he is not sick."

She said, though, that the President, who is a senior citizen and considered vulnerable from Covid-19, is under limited movement after 99 personnel from the Presidential Security Group tested positive from the virus.

"Although gi-announce naman nila nga medyo nagkalisod sila ron (it was announced that they are struggling right now) because hundreds, ang hahibal-an nako (as far as I know there are) 99 ka buok PSG ang nag-positive sa ilang palibot (PSG personnel tested positive)," Duterte-Carpio said.

She added the Office of the President is the right office to answer the president's medical condition.

Former presidential aide and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go had shared a series of pictures of him and the President, allaying the public’s fear of Duterte’s condition.

Go even shared photos of Duterte doing an early morning jogging and exercise.

The President is reported to deliver his public address on Monday evening, April 12.
