Most wanted person, human trafficker nabbed

POLICE have arrested one of the most wanted persons and an alleged human trafficker in separate law enforcement operations in Zamboanga Peninsula, an official said Tuesday, April 13.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Ranillo Juntilla, 39, and Raquel Paculananga, 41.

Duco said Juntilla was nabbed in a law enforcement operation around 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, in Purok 4, Azusano village, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Juntilla, who has been listed as number five most wanted person in Titay town, has a standing warrant of arrest for murder.

Paculanang, on the other hand, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, in Zone 6, Ayala village, Zamboanga City.

Duco said Paculanang has a standing warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9208, otherwise known as the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, and violation of RA 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

He said the court did not recommend bail for Paculanang’s violation of RA 9208, but placed a bail bond amounting to P200,000 for RA 7610. (SunStar Zamboanga)
