No civil weddings in San Luis town until May 15

NO WEDDING will be conducted by any elected official inside the municipal hall in San Luis town, Pampanga until April 15, 2021.

Mayor Jayson Sagum postponed all civil wedding ceremonies in town as part of the infection control measures implemented amid the surge in coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases.

He said the move was to prevent the holding of any mass gatherings, as they are the causes of infection among family members.

"Our primary concern is the reception area. During the ceremony, we can actually control it because we impose the health protocols but we can fully control what they do during the reception," Sagum said.

He added that he also coordinated with the parish priest regarding the holding of church weddings, as well as baptism.

"I have no power over the church, but I have relayed to our parish priest the statistics and I know they are also doing their best to ensure the safety of the people," he said.

As of April 14, there were a total of 127 confirmed Covid-19 cases in the town, in which 28 were active, 94 were recoveries and five were deaths.
