Covid-19 cases in Pampanga 4th district towns continue to surge

THE surge in the number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases has affected the towns in the fourth district of Pampanga.

From April 1 to 12 alone, the overall number of cases in the district rose to nearly 400, from 1,218 to 1,607, data from the Provincial Information Office showed.

The town of Candaba posted the highest increase in the number of confirmed cases with 115, followed by Apalit with 73 new cases.

Some 69 new cases were also reported in Macabebe town from the start of the month, while San Luis registered 34 fresh cases.

The municipality of San Simon logged 28 new cases while Sto. Tomas listed 23 cases. Masantol had the lowest increase with 18 cases.

On the latest data, there were a total of 415 active Covid-19 cases in the district, which was about 25 percent of the total confirmed cases.
