Candaba logs 51 new Covid-19 cases in 1 day

THE surge in the number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Candaba town continues as 51 new cases were posted on Thursday alone, April 15.

This is the highest number of cases recorded in a single day in the municipality since the start of pandemic.

Most of the new cases were infected by family members or exposed to friends, relatives or workmates who tested positive for coronavirus.

Fourteen cases were reported in Barangay Mandasig, eight in Lanang, seven in San Agustin, five in Dalayap, three in Paralaya and two in Bahay-Pare.

Barangays Pescadores, Paralaya, Mangga, Salapungan, Sto. Rosario, Pansinao, Pasig, Pulong Gubat, Talang and Salapungan likewise registered one case each.

Mayor Rene Maglanque said contact tracing is continuously being conducted to account all possible infections and halt the spread of disease.

He added that disinfection of all public placed, including the municipal hall and public market, as well as in barangays, is regularly conducted.

"All health and safety protocols are strictly being enforced. We are identifying and testing all close-contacts so we can isolate them," he said.
