Crime group member falls in Zamboanga Sibugay anti-drug sting

A MEMBER of a crime syndicate was arrested in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Saturday, April 17, 2021.

Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspect as Ajijomar Cadil Wahab, 31, a member of the Barahama Ali crime group.

Ylagan said Wahab was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 7:42 p.m. Friday in Purok Marang, Tenan village, Ipil, the capital of Zamboanga Sibugay province.

He said Wahab was arrested after he sold two sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,000 to an undercover policeman.

Aside from the two sachets, the operatives recovered from the possession of Wahab some 2.125 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P17,000, a lighter, and P1,000 marked money consisting of five P100 bills and one P500 bill.

Ylagan said the suspect was placed under the custody of Ipil Municipal Police Station for the filing of appropriate charges against him.

The Barahama Alih crime syndicate is engaged in kidnapping, drug trafficking, and contract killing. (SunStar Zamboanga)
