30 vaccinated healthcare workers in Oro test positive for coronavirus

A TOTAL of 30 frontline healthcare workers in Cagayan de Oro who already had their doses of the Covid-19 vaccine tested positive for the novel coronavirus as of Saturday, April 17, City epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said.

According to Retuya, half of these medical workers were vaccinated with Sinovac and the other half with AstraZeneca.

Of the 15 Sinovac vaccinated healthcare workers, three have completed the two doses.

It has been explained before that a vaccinated individual can still be tested positive for the coronavirus as the vaccines can only prevent the occurrence of severe and critical cases.

"Ang bakuna isa lang sa mga istratehiya nato aron dili ka mopadulong didto ngadto sa mga kaso nga severe or mga kaso nga mamatay," Retuya said.

"Wala pay bakuna nga maka cause og sterility, sterilizing immunity," he added.
