The Games and Amusement Board (GAB) has suspended the Mindanao leg of the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup and has placed the league under evaluation, placing its future under a cloud of uncertainty.

“We are in the process of investigation and seriously looking into the allegations of wrong doing. The board would like to further observe the ongoing Visayas leg before giving a go signal for the other,” said the GAB in a statement that it released on Sunday.

The Mindanao leg is supposed to tip off next month in Dipolog City, immediately after the conclusion of the Visayas leg. However, with the controversy stemming from the highly unusual game involving the Siquijor Mystics and the ARQ Builders Lapu-Lapu City Heroes last Wednesday staining the league’s integrity, the GAB saw it fit to first do its due diligence before letting the league move forward.

“In the meantime, GAB is reviewing the official reports of its field officers in the bubble and that of the League to determine the administrative liability of the licensees as well as the possibility of proceeding with criminal charges if warranted by the circumstances,” its statement continued.

“Our Mandate is to ensure the integrity of professional sports/welfare of players and we’re doing just that,” the statement concluded.

Set to compete in the Mindanao leg are the Basilan Peace Riders, Cagayan De Oro Rafters, Zamboanga Los Valientes, Pagadian Explorers, Roxas Vanguards, and teams from Sindagan and Ozamis.
