THE Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) urged coconut farmers to register in the government’s official list of coconut farmers in the country dubbed the National Coconut Farmers Registry System (NCFRS).

Once registered in the NCFRS, they will get to enjoy various benefits. For owners of coconut farms not more than five hectares, tenants, tillers, growers, or farm workers, they will receive benefits stipulated in Republic Act 11524 or Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund Act. They can also select or be selected as representatives in the PCA Board.

For owners of coconut farms with an area exceeding five hectares, they can enjoy the benefits of the other programs of the government.

The NCFRS accepts registrants who are farm owners, owner-tillers, growers (who own not less than 0.5 hectares of land with at least 20 coconut trees), tenant or tenant-workers, and farm workers or laborers.

To register, they have to submit their latest 2x2 ID picture, a copy of a government-issued ID, and a land title or lease agreement.

Registration can be done manually by submitting a form or online.

Forms can be submitted online or through the on-site mass registrations scheduled in the barangays or towns or walk-in registration at the PCA regional or provincial offices. Registrants can also download the form online and submit it with the required documents to ncfrs@pca.gov.ph. (NRC)
