THE City Engineer’s Office (CEO) is undertaking the repair of some of the cubicles of the isolation facility at the Mayor Joaquin F. Enriquez, Jr. Memorial Sports Complex in Zamboanga City.
This was in light of the rapidly increasing coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in this southern port city.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has directed the CEO to prepare at least 700-bed isolation facilities in case the situation worsens as it was during the first wave of the pandemic last year.
As of April 17, an additional 84 new Covid-19 cases were recorded, bringing the total active cases for this city to 707 based on the Covid-19 data tracker.
The tracker likewise showed an additional 21 new recoveries and three mortalities from the previous posting.
The confirmed Covid-19 cases for this city now totaled 5,106, with 4,187 recoveries and 212 deaths.
Salazar has called on the public anew to comply with Covid-19 protocols and help stem coronavirus transmission. (SunStar Zamboanga)
