Oro logs 29 new Covid-19 case; total now at 4,478

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office logged 29 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 4,478.

City Health Medical Officer Ma. Aleta Santos said of the 29 new local cases, 18 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 17 were local index cases, and four were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors).

Of the 4,478 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 435 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 4,043 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro recorded 299 active cases, 90 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 201 were outpatients, and eight were ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 24 new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,976.

Of the figure, 304 were LSIs, 122 were ROFs, and 3,550 were local cases (community: 3,008; Apors: 542).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was at 203.
