Nearly 7,000 traffic violations recorded in Cebu City in first half of April

THE Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) issued 6,849 traffic citation tickets to violators from April 1-15, 2021.

This is 532 more than the number of traffic citation tickets issued in the same period last month. CCTO issued 6,317 tickets in March 2021.

According to CCTO, common traffic violations in April include overloading, no stopping anytime, parking on sidewalks, disregarding traffic signs, and defective plate lights and headlights, among others.

In the same period in April, CCTO also impounded 10 e-bikes, one traysikad, nine four-wheeled vehicles, one tricycle, one public utility jeepney, eight dump trucks, and two canter trucks. (NRC)
