DTI-Central Luzon to hold online business conference

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Central Luzon is set to hold an online regional business conference dubbed “Touchpoint.”

The conference, with the theme “Maximizing Innovation and Technology in the Better Normal,” is scheduled on April 21 via Zoom.

The event will also be broadcast free to the public via the Facebook page of DTI-Central Luzon starting at 9 a.m.

The conference will gather stakeholders from different fields to discuss the modern ways of interaction, communication and transaction using modern technology for better delivery of services and goods.

The topics to be presented during the conference include Industry 4.0 and its Impact to CL Industries to be presented by Director Lilian Salonga of the DTI Competitiveness Bureau; Interventions to Improve Connectivity: Getting Ready for the Better Normal, to be presented by Undersecretary Emmanuel Rey Caintic of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT); Philippine E-Commerce Roadmap, to be presented by Assistant Secretary and E-commerce Lead Mary Jean Pacheco of DTI; and Avoiding Fraud from Online Transactions, to be presented by Special Investigator Elcid Dela Rosa of the National Bureau of Investigation.

DTI-Central Luzon Director Leonila Baluyut said the conference would be a key learning event for micro, small and medium enterprises, consumers, members of the academe and officials of local government units and national government agencies.

She noted that the conference is set to highlight the need for technology-based solutions to challenges every sector is facing in the new normal.
