Trader, 2 others nabbed in anti-drug stings

A FISH trader and two others were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City and in nearby Zamboanga Sibugay province, the police reported Tuesday, April 20.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested fish trader as Roel Puapian, 33, a resident of Santa Barbara village, Zamboanga City.

Recovered from Paupian were P50,000 worth of shabu and P300 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 9 p.m. Monday, April 19, on Camanchili Drive in Zone III village, Zamboanga City.

Duco identified the other two arrested suspects as Kristoffer Rey Guarino, 42, and Jericoh Canoy, 22.

He said Guarino yielded P15,000 worth of shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:30 p.m. Monday, April 19, at Vista Homes in Kasanyangan village.

Recovered from Canoy were P374 worth of shabu and P500 marked money when arrested around 9:30 p.m. Monday in Purok 3, Sitio Siren in Solar village, Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Duco said charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects. (SunStar Zamboanga)
