DR. Ernell Tumimbang, provincial health officer of Negros Occidental, said Tuesday, April 20, that he will make an arrangement schedule Wednesday, April 21, with Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson about the date of his Covid-19 vaccination.

Tumimbang said they are checking on the availability of the vaccines because they have already distributed them.

"We still have some here but we will arrange it with the governor. I know that he is still busy but we will vaccinate the governor of his chosen brand," Timimbang said.

Lacson said he will take Sinovac anti-Covid-19 shots soon and that he requested that he receive the vaccine alongside senior citizens.

Lacson said he is more convinced now that the Sinovac vaccine from China is effective, pointing out that he can get the second dose in four weeks compared to the AstraZeneca vaccine, which takes at least eight to 12 weeks.

Lacson also said the AstraZeneca vaccines ordered by the local government units are tentatively scheduled to arrive in July, and therefore, if he took the AstraZeneca jab early, it would difficult to see if additional supplies would be immediately available for the second dose.
