1,550 Covid deaths in Central Luzon as cases continue to rise

CORONAVIRUS disease (Covid-19) deaths in Central Luzon have now reached a total of 1,550, while more active cases have been recorded in different provinces of the region.

For April 20 alone, 30 new deaths have been recorded in the region. The total number of deaths brought the fatality rate to 2.1 percent.

Pampanga and Nueva Ecija both have the highest fatality rate in the region with 2.87 and 2.73 percent, respectively.

Deaths in Pampanga, excluding Angeles City, are at 398 cases.

Confirmed Covid-19 cases in the region have reached a total of 73,854. Of the number, the Department of Health said 56,645 have already recovered as of April 20.

The total number of active cases is currently at 21.2 percent of the total, representing 15,659. Majority of the cases exhibit mild symptoms while 51 are moderate, 53 are severe, and 20 are in critical condition.

Bulacan has the most number of recorded cases since the start of the pandemic at 34,698, followed by Pampanga with 13,876.
