NEARLY 250,000 doses of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccines have been downloaded and administered in Central Luzon since the start of the rollout in March.

Based on the data provided by the Department of Health (DOH), a total of 245,145 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were already received by the region as of April 20.

Central Luzon has the third highest vaccine deployment in the country after the National Capital Region with 1,221,870 and Calabarzon with 307,260.

The DOH targets 156,520 individuals from Priority Groups A1 or healthcare workers, A2 or senior citizens, and A3 or persons with comorbidities to be fully vaccinated.

From the said target number, 124,556 or about 79.6 percent already received their first doses while 7,112 or some 4.5 percent have finished their vaccination after receiving the second dose.

As of Thursday, April 22, the rollout of vaccines for senior citizens and persons with comorbidities is ongoing in the seven provinces of the region.

Meanwhile, the DOH said over 1.5 million doses of vaccines out of the total 3.02 million doses distributed across the country were already administered to recipients.
