The Tree: Artistic expressions for Earth Day

TREES are valuable to everyone, no wonder why the cutting of roadside trees in Singcang recently sparked uproar.

The Negros Artist Collective led by artist Rudy Reveche portrayed the existence of trees located near the old Bacolod airport in Singcang, Bacolod City as part of the celebration of Earth Day.

The local artists displayed the need for us to value the importance of trees as they provide human beings many advantages in health and protection.

The local artists made portrayals of the activities of the trees in various conditions.

They stepped on the cut trees and performed based on their creative imagination and expression.

Revanche was grateful for this rendition as it portrays the value and movements of the trees.

Trees provide us with natural oxygen. It serves as shades from the sun. It beautifies the place. It helps absorb floodwaters. It also helps in the sustainability of our ecosystem among others.

But to cut grown trees without giving importance to their existence would truly spark conflict among the lovers of the environment.

The local artists also find their performance timely and expressive of how they tended for the trees.

The earth is getting older and trees should be preserved. When developments are undertaken, there must be a thorough study on how to implement such development by preserving those trees.

The advocates push for the preservation and protection of the trees.
