THE number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Pampanga continues to increase, with the province reporting a total of 13,443 infections, according to a bulletin posted by the Provincial Government.
Of the cases, 3,215 are active, while 626 have died of the disease.
Most of the active cases are in Mabalacat City (457), Magalang (181), Floridablanca (153), Lubao (144), Porac (164), Arayat (147), Mexico (133), and Candaba (200).
Other towns have seen a surge, with an average of 60 to 80 cases. The City of San Fernando alone has 829 active cases.
Pampanga’s fatality rate for the virus is currently at three percent, according to the latest update of the Department of Health in the region.
Pampanga’s fatality rate is the highest in Central Luzon.
