Bacolod police thank bizman for concreting BCPO parade ground

BACOLOD City Police Office (BCPO) Director Colonel Manuel Placido has expressed his gratitude to Bacolod businessman Jerry Sy for concreting the pavement and parade ground of the BCPO headquarters in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Ma. Liberty Indiape, spokesperson of BCPO, on Friday, April 13, 2021, said the BCPO parade ground and parking area have never been cemented since the construction of the new Philippine National Police building some years back.

She added BCPO personnel, clients, visitors and community stakeholders that need to transact and avail of office services had to walk on uneven pavement and tip-toe on muddy potholes particularly during the rainy season.

“Those experiences will be no more because, with the concreting of BCPO pavement and parade ground, that happening will just be a thing of the past. The ever-Samaritan Mr. Jerry L. Sy or “JSY” as most of us in the BCPO fondly called him, personally funded the concreting of the spacious BCPO parade ground and the many other tangible things that he supported us but wishes not to be mentioned all those good deeds,” she said.

She added that since Colonel Placido assumed his post as BCPO city director in October 2020, he is overwhelmed by the support given by Sy to BCPO.

Indiape noted that Sy has also assisted BCPO’s facilities improvement since last year.

“With the concreting of the parade ground, the morale of men and women of BCPO will be undeniably high as they will be all walking and working in a more comfortable workplace, free from hazards caused by the rough, stony pavement and muddy parking area. Further, improved facilities will consequently result in better police service as both the police personnel and BCPO clients/stakeholders will be inspired, feel dignified, and fairly treated while transacting business at the premises,” Indiape said.

Placido also assured that under his tenure as BCPO city director, he will allow a portion of the parade ground for community stakeholders to use (Zumba dancer/goers and small kids plays/activities) for a closer police-community partnership.

Indiape said Colonel Placido had an audience with some personalities in the business sector in Bacolod. After discussing with them, he mentioned the great potential of Bacolod City in many aspects.

She added the said personalities realized the importance of maintaining peace and order concerning the progress and development of Bacolod, which manifested their support for his plans and visions.

“The men and women of BCPO are greatly thankful to Mr. Sy for his unwavering support to BCPO under the leadership of Colonel Placido,” she said.
