Top Three of the B.E.S.T of 2010 named

AFTER four months from its launch last October 19, 2009, The B.E.S.T. of 2010 (Baguio's Exemplary School Teachers) recognition program culminated with the Awards Night last February 24 at Hotel Supreme.

The B.E.S.T. program recognizes public school teachers, in both elementary and high school categories, who have displayed dedication, commitment and excellence in their profession.

Now on its sixth year, this program is sponsored by Rotary Club of Baguio Sunrise (RCBSun), in cooperation with the Department of Education (DepEd) Baguio City Division.

Recognized during the awards night were the 20 finalists who have been named following a process of evaluation and interview.

From the 68 candidates submitted by the schools, 45 nominees were selected based on their three-semester performance ratings.

From the 45, the 20 finalists were chosen based on ratings given by the selection committees composed of RCBSun members.

The finalists were awarded with medals, certificates, one-year insurance coverage and cash.

The highlight of the awards night was the announcement of the top three winners from among the finalists in each of the elementary and high school categories.

The top three placers were determined after another round of evaluation and interview by the board of judges last January 31. Of the seven-man board, five were RCBSun officers, with two members from the private academe. The top three were awarded with trophies and cash.

The top three for each category are as follows:
