A BUSINESS couple and five others were arrested while some P112,800 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga Peninsula, the police reported Sunday, April 25, 2021.
Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested business couple as Habes Albofera, 39, and his wife, Rosemarie, 34.
Duco said the couple was arrested in an anti-drug operation around 2:10 p.m. Saturday in Purok D in Timuay Danda village, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Confiscated from the couple were some five grams of suspected shabu worth P34,000, boodle money consisting of 15 pieces of P1,000 bills topped with one genuine P500 bill as marked money, and a wallet.
Duco identified the other arrested suspects as follows: Amina Sadjail, 50; Titing Sadjail, 51; Ronalyn Sotto, 29; Jovani Francisco, 47; Joe Laurence Lumigan, 32; and, Win Dela Cruz, 47.
He said the Sadjail couple was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:50 p.m. Saturday in Santa Catalina village, Zamboanga City.
Recovered from them were some 9.6 grams of suspected shabu, and P200 marked money.
Duco said Sotto yielded a gram of suspected shabu worth P6,800 and P200 marked money when arrested in an anti-drug operation around 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Sitio Asinan in Kasanyangan village, Zamboanga City.
Francisco and Lumigan were arrested in possession of some P4,000 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 12:50 a.m. Sunday in Purok 5 in Sinunuc village, Zamboanga City.
Duco said seized from Dela Cruz were some P3,000 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 4:15 p.m. Saturday in Candido Drive in Talon-Talon village, Zamboanga City
Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspects. (SunStar Zamboanga)
