Oro logs 58 new Covid-19 cases; total now at 4,662

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office logged 58 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 4,662.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 58 new local cases, two are persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 33 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 12 are local index cases, 10 are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and one death.

Of the 4,662 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 435 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 4,227 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro recorded 341 active cases, 122 of whom are currently admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 215 are outpatients, and four are ROFs/LSIs.

The city recorded five cases that were retagged to Marawi City; Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon; Iligan City; Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental; and Zamboanga del Norte.

Cagayan de Oro also registered 48 new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 4,113.

Of the figure, 308 are LSIs, 122 are ROFs, and 3,683 are local cases (community: 3,129; Apors: 554).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 208.
