NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson still urged everyone to continue to be vigilant, as he affirmed that the number of active Covid-19 cases in the province is starting to decline.

For two weeks, Negros Occidental had been experiencing triple digit cases. Over the last few days, however, the province saw a slight reduction in new cases.

According to Lacson, as of Sunday, Negros Occidental had 122 new recoveries with 22 new Covid-19 cases.

"That is a net recovery of 100," Lacson said.

He said they are hoping the trend will continue in the coming days.

He urged Negrenses to continue following the health protocols.

As for the current four-day work week at the Provincial Capitol, Lacson said they will continue adopting the work scheme in the meantime until such time that the number of Covid-19 cases dropped to the level that was experienced about two and a half months ago.

Lacson also said that they have not recorded any no new cases of Covid-19 among the personnel of the Provincial Government.

As of April 25, Negros Occidental posted a total of 10,583 confirmed cases with 1,909 tagged as active, 8,420 recoveries, and 254 deaths.
